Local Businesses Teaming Up to Support Folds of Honor
The Folds of Honor program aims to provide educational scholarships to the loved ones of America’s fallen and wounded warriors. This past May, Anheuser-Busch created a limited-edition brew called Freedom Reserve. A portion of the proceeds from the cases sold would then in return be donated to the Folds of Honor program.
Similarly, one of Anheuser-Busch’s distributors, Donnewald Distributing, also contributed to the cause. They were able to raise $3,000 to the Folds of Honor program. Mike Donnewald, president of Donnewald Distributing said, “We are proud to be able to participate in some small way to help the dependents of our heroes get the education they need and deserve.”
Sunset Hills Golf Course located in Edwardsville, IL also acted to support the Folds of Honor program. On September 11th, a 45-hole golf tournament was held to raise money for the cause. Each team from the tournament donated a minimum of $5,000 and PUMA supplied every player with custom Folds of Honor golf apparel and merchandise. Jon DePriest, the PGA Director of Golf Operations, worked extremely hard to make the tournament happen and in return he raised $171,000 for the Folds of Honor Program.
